Does my insurance adjuster need to see my car first?

Not at all. You can even drop your car off with us and have the adjuster do their appraisal here at Caliber Collision. Caliber works closely with all the major insurance companies and can easily advise them of any work and repairs that need to be done to your vehicle. In most cases, Caliber will be pre-approved and you’ll only need one estimate.

Do I need more than one estimate for my insurance company?

No, Caliber is often pre-approved by all major insurance companies. When you file your claim, ask your insurance adjuster which Caliber near you is pre-approved and then give us a call to make an appointment to drop your car off. It’s that simple.

I am having issues submitting my collision damage photos online.

What can I expect when bringing my vehicle to Caliber?

Every repair we do is unique due to the level of damage, but we will give you a timeline with your estimate and communicate with you through every step of the repair process.

How do I get a rental car?

Many of our locations have an on-site Enterprise Rent-a-Car location for your convenience. And if the one you choose doesn’t, we’ll drop you off at the nearest Enterprise location free of charge. The average time for a vehicle to be in a repair shop is two weeks, so ask your insurance agent about your car rental coverage. Of course, we’ll do our best to get you back in your own vehicle as quickly as possible. What if something goes wrong with my repairs a few years from now?

While we’re confident this will not happen, we’re also available to help if it does. We back up all repair work with a written limited lifetime warranty . That means whether it’s a month, a year or five years down the road, we’ll correct the problem free of charge as long as you own your vehicle, at any one of our convenient Caliber locations.

What repairs do you do?

Our ASE certified technicians will address any mechanical repair and electrical issue you have. Whether it’s a faulty alternator, blown fuse or a weak battery, Caliber Auto Care can handle services for all makes and all models of vehicles including European brands. Do you perform scheduled maintenance services?

Absolutely. We perform the same scheduled maintenance service that you would get if you took your vehicle back to the dealership - from oil changes to seasonal care. These set maintenance schedules are important to keep your car running smoothly and your warranty valid.

Do you offer stay in your car oil changes?

Yes, all of our Auto Care centers now sell and repair tires for all makes and models of vehicles as well as tire rotations, tire balancing and wheel alignments. You can also shop online to get tire quotes before coming to the center.

Do you take insurance for glass repair/replacement?

We do. We are approved by all major insurance companies and auto glass claim processing is handled for you so it’s simple, easy and hassle-free.

How do I prepare for my auto glass appointment?

If your vehicle is equipped with cameras and sensors behind the rearview mirror, you will most likely need an ADAS calibration after an auto glass replacement. Please follow the steps below that are recommended by most vehicle manufacturers to ensure your vehicle is ready for your appointment. Please ensure your vehicle's fuel tank is full. Remove any bulky items and added weight from the backseat or trunk. Alert your technician if your vehicle's suspension ride height or factory wheels/tires have been modified in any way. Depending on the type of calibration, you may need to drop off your vehicle at the provided location at the scheduled time. Learn more about getting ready for calibration.

Why are calibrations needed for auto glass replacements?

Vehicle calibrations are essential to ensure that cameras and sensors are working properly and aligned with the road, thereby protecting occupants from potential road hazards. When a windshield is replaced, the cameras and other sensors mounted to the windshield will be transferred to the new windshield. Those Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) need to be calibrated to ensure they operate as the vehicle manufacturer or OEM originally intended. A vehicle’s year, make and model will determine the learning process for the vehicle’s sensors to see the roadway correctly. The type of vehicle will also decide what calibration will be required between a static calibration with stationary targets or a dynamic road calibration. In certain cases, both types of calibration may be necessary.

Why does the vehicle gas tank have to be full for calibrations?

To ensure accurate calibrations, many vehicle manufacturers require the vehicle to be at curb weight. This requires all fluids such as gas and oil levels to be filled to proper levels. Additionally, to meet curb weight, the technician will verify that the air pressure in all tires is correct, and that the vehicle is equipped with a spare tire in the correct position. Removing any excess cargo is important to ensure that the vehicle’s sensors are calibrated to the manufacturer’s specifications. Please note these weight requirements do not affect normal driving once the calibration is complete.

Why do I need to bring my vehicle to a shop?

Depending on the vehicle’s year, make and model, it is important to have a controlled environment. Factors such as lighting, an uneven surface, background clutter, and shadows can hinder performing a successful calibration. Bringing the vehicle to the shop ensures a controlled environment for the sensitive static calibration with stationary targets, ensuring proper camera and radar performance after a windshield replacement.

Will a technician need to drive the vehicle for auto glass replacements?

After replacing the windshield, depending on the year, make and model of a vehicle, it may be necessary to perform a dynamic calibration or validation to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle. This process involves driving at highway speeds on a clearly marked road with visible lines and signage for the cameras to focus on. The distance and duration of the drive will vary depending on the road and vehicle. In some cases, the technician may need to drive the vehicle anywhere from one mile and up to fifty miles. Please note that weather conditions can impact this process. If it is raining or if the roadways are covered in snow, dynamic calibration may not be possible to complete. To ensure our customers’ safety, our glass team may reschedule the replacement and calibration for a time when it can be done correctly.

Is all glass the same?

The manufacturing process of glass begins with Float Glass, which is initially flat. The desired thickness, characteristics, and performance properties of the glass are determined by specific requirements, depending on its intended use. When the flat glass is transformed into curved glass, for example, windshields, the quality control and manufacturing capabilities of the glass manufacturing company play a crucial role. Essentially, all glass originates from raw materials and undergoes different manufacturing processes depending on the usage.

When is your Annual Food Drive?

We typically hold our Restoring You Food Drive in late spring to support our communities’ local food banks to help feed children in need during the summer months when they no longer have a school lunch to rely on.

Please note that at this time, Caliber Collision is not accepting Recycled Rides applications directly from individuals. Caliber Collision partners with local nonprofit charitable organizations to qualify and select potential Recycled Rides recipients.
